Navy Veterans

Mesothelioma in Navy veterans is tragically common – and for reasons that are obvious today. Of all servicemen, Navy men were arguably more frequently exposed to asbestos than members of the other branches of our armed forces. More than 300 different materials commonly used by the US Navy contained asbestos, making exposure to asbestos a common occurrence.

It was used throughout navy ships and in shipyards as insulation (primarily in engine rooms), in electrical wiring, and in the bulkheads of the ship to protect occupied spaces from overheating. It was also used in deck tiles, galleys, overheads, sealant, paint, and even in rope.

Unfortunately, as these materials age, they release asbestos fibers into the air, where they are easily inhaled. Navy veterans with mesothelioma today are suffering due to their exposure to these fibers.

If you were in the Navy at any point up to 1980 and later developed mesothelioma, you were almost certainly exposed to asbestos during your service. Mesothelioma in Navy veterans is often the result of negligence on the part of responsible authority.

Navy veterans with mesothelioma should contact Johnson Law Group as soon as possible for an honest assessment of their case and its potential for compensation.
